Disney or Universal - me is leaning Universal :o)

Disney has had its thunder stolen again. Just hours after it announced a major new expansion of the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, in 2012, its main rival Universal Orlando unleashed a host of details about its newest area: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, created with the participation of author J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros, is a new land being constructed all at once at Universal's Islands of Adventure park. Incidentally, that's the same park that also has an entire land based on Marvel Comics characters, which also draws guests away Disney using what is now, painfully, a Disney property.
For all the details of the new Wizarding World, go over to Walletpop :o)

  1. Ironic, isn't it? I'm guessing Universal will clean up on the Harry Potter thing. Can you imagine all the kids that will want to go to that?

  3. I would be all over the Harry Potter land! Lets face it, there would be no annoying "it's a small world after all" songs in the backgroud and dark and twisty abound. I'm down with the Harry Potter idea.

  5. Hi Ken,
Yes, it's tough times at the Magic Kingdom. But they're still a powerhouse (even if they did, about two hours ago, announce that the head of the studio is leaving ...).
    Best,
    Marty
