This is just WRONG!

CHICAGO - The Sears Tower, one of the world's iconic skyscrapers and the tallest building in the U.S., was renamed the Willis Tower on today in a downtown ceremony, marking a new chapter in the history of the giant edifice that has dominated the Chicago skyline for nearly four decades. [AP]

Sorry, it will ALWAYS be the Sears Tower to me. I grew up in the far west suburbs of the Windy City, and I refuse to accept the British Insurance Co. "Willis" name change.

  2. What is worse than the renam-- er, reBRANDING of the Sears Tower, is that when the insurance company goes kaput, some other fly by night orginzation will by naming rights.

Sad, a sign of the era we are in.

  3. Yeah, that is wrong. I've actually seen and been in the Sears Tower. One of the few places I can say I've been.
