As you read this, I am heading to work to be deposed by two legal teams due to a project I managed in 2002-2003.
I had a preparatory session today, and as I drove home, I considered the things that I would rather do tomorrow than spend 6+ hours with lawyers being deposed.
I considered pulling my fingernails out, but discarded that based on the blood that would stain our carpet.
I considered pulling my own teeth, but was afraid I would choke on my own blood.
I considered pulling my facial hair out one at a time, but Beth really likes my mustache and goatee, so that is out (phew :o)
I considered nailing my hands to the wall, but then I would not be able to get to the deposition and could be in even more trouble.
So, I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and get up this morning and head to work and endure the deposition. Both yesterday's preparatory session, and today's actual deposition happen to occur on my scheduled days off, so I am not a happy camper.
Hope your day is better than mine :o)
For me, the metaphor would be one where I would prefer the enjoyment of self pleasure with a handful of razor blades than to do whatever was the alternative suggestion.
ReplyDeleteYup, being deposed is as much fun as a barrel of worms ...
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel, having been deposed myself for a project I worked on in the past, as well. It's not fun.
Best,
Marty
